Tips for better sleep with EndometriosisTips for better sleep with Endometriosis.

If you read my last blog, Does Endometriosis cause sleep issues? then you know how difficult it can be to sometimes get a restful night’s sleep.  Being that sleep is essential for not only our physical but mental health as well. It is important that we aim for the recommended 7 to 9 hours of sleep every night.  Learn some tips for better sleep with endometriosis.

I understand firsthand how much endometriosis can affect our lives, including sleep.  Its been years of suffering that I have finally found something that can help me have a healthy sleep routine.  Of course, there are still times when endo decides that all of these don’t matter, and it’s a long night of not sleeping.

Tips for better sleep with Endometriosis.

  1. Get into the habit of going to bed around the same time each night.
  2. Develop a relaxing bedtime routine like a warm bath, meditation, journaling, reading, listening to soothing music, etc.
  3. Create a comfortable sleep environment.  Make sure that the room is dark, quiet, and at a comfortable temperature.
  4. Add some comfortable pillows and blankets. I absolutely love my U Shape pillow and weighted blanket.
  5. Limit your screentime prior to bed. Aim for turning them after an hour before bed.
  6. Avoid heavy meals, foods with high sugar, or caffeine late in the day.
  7. Make sure you are exercising regularly.
  8. Try some herbal remedies.  Here are some of my must-haves:
    1.  Sleepy Time Herbal Extract
    2. Good Night Lotion
  9. Essential Oils. I have always loved incorporating essentials into my everyday.  Some of my favorites from  Simply Earth Essential Oils like Sleepy Roll-On,  and Lavender.
