Here are the top things to have to help with recovery after Endometriosis surgery.  Top things to have to help with recovery after Endometriosis Surgery.

After my first laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis, I had no idea what I would need to help my recovery.  Three surgeries later I have some really great things that I use to help my recovery.  I thought it was time to share it with all you amazing Endo Fighters.  Here are the top things to have to help with recovery after Endometriosis surgery.

As always if you have something that has helped you through your recovery please share it so I can add it here for others as well.

Nutrition: This is an important one, our bodies need fuel to heal.  So I make sure that I have small meals that are full of nutrients.  One of my favorite things to have is Vanilla Protein, with non-dairy milk, fresh spinach, and half banana.  Blend it all together for a yummy smoothie.

Hydration:  This is MAJOR.  Stay hydrated not only flushes out the medications and anesthesia you received, but it helps keep your bowels moving.  So drink drink drink!

Rest: I have learned to listen to my body and rest when it needs it.

Clothes: Comfy clothes that are loose will be your best friend.  Although they are not attractive, high-waisted underwear… yup you know the “granny panties.”  Anything that is not tight or restricted around your belly button area, since you will be swollen.

Pillows:  This is one thing I didn’t really have during my first surgery. But I quickly learned that pillows are amazing especially when you are recovering.  I keep one across my stomach to protect it and add some comfort.  I also use it when I have to get up and walk, or if I need to cough/sneeze.  They are always good for helping to keep you upright a little for the first couple of nights.

Herbal Remedies:  I try to avoid taking over-the-counter medications, so I have found these herbal remedies are essential for not only every day with Endo but recovery as well.
Digest-Support (Digestive Bitters)- Relieve gas, bloating, and digestive distress with herbal digestive bitters! It works amazing for me with symptoms like gas, bloating, indigestion, constipation, and diarrhea.
Anti-Inflammatory Herbal Remedy – As we know reducing inflammation is key with endometriosis, so that’s why I absolutely love this one. It helps to calm the body, reduce inflammation, and provide immune support
Lunamore – is a new one that I have just recently added to my daily routine. This tincture provides herbal support for hormone balance, helps to reduce cramps and cysts, and supports healthy blood sugar levels.

MyLivia Livia is one that I use every month.  It’s great for helping with lower back pain, menstrual cramps, and more. MyLivia works by transmitting special micro-pulses to the central nervous system to keep the nerves “busy.” When menstrual pain signals are transmitted, the nerve gate is closed and reduces or eliminates the pain being felt.

During recovery, I also make sure that I have some peppermint tea that can help with gas. As well as ginger that helps with any nausea I may feel.  I keep a couple of good books nearby to read as well as some recommendations for maybe movies or shows I want to watch.

I hope you have found these top things to have to help with recovery after Endometriosis Surgery helpful.  Wishing you a speedy and successful recovery.
