What does eating healthy mean?Have you ever asked yourself “What does eating healthy mean with Endometriosis?

For many women with Endometriosis “eating healthy” means a lot of different things.  One person, it may mean that they eliminate sugary proceeded foods. Someone else may reduce the number of carbohydrates that they consume in a day, another may opt for smaller meals or maybe fasting for extended periods of time.

No matter what your idea of “eating healthy” is, there are a few things that you should make sure to accomplish.

1 – Improve the composition of your body.
Whether you are looking to lose weight, gain weight/muscle, or a general overall look you want to achieve. The plan or way that you are eating should support those goals.

2- Improve your health.
You could be looking to improve a current health issue or risk you have been presented with, or you are just looking for overall better health.  Your eating should be promoting positive changes in your health.
You must be sure that you are not restricting too many calories or nutrients that your body needs to function properly.  It is important that your body feels energized and a sense of overall health.

3 – Sustainable.
Your eating habits need to be sustainable for the long term.  Crash diets or extreme calorie/nutrient restrictions are not meant for the long haul. Our bodies can suffer stress under these conditions, so change needs to be sustainable.   As I have always said, it is not a diet, it is a lifestyle change.

A helpful tip is to ask yourself “What do I hope to achieve with this way of eating?
